SMOT MAGNETOGRAVITATIONAL ASPECTS

ABSTRACT

Description of a research apparatus which makes a ferromagnetic ball roll up a ramp utilizing permanent magnets whereafter gravity pulls the ball out of said magnetic field. Thus performing a gain cycle.

INTRODUCTION

To all whom it may concern be it known that I, Gaby de Wilde, artist, subject of the Dutch Queen, of Dutch nationality, a citizen of the independent monarchy of the Netherlands governed by members of the House of Orange Nassau, residence of Enkhuizen, in the Province of North-Holland the Kingdom of the Netherlands, have invented a new and improved perspective on gravity and magnetism in the context of the SMOT apparatus I hereby declare ofwhich the following specification to be a full, clear, exact and accurate description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to use the same.

THE APPARATUS

2 permanent bar magnets with the poles at their long side attract a ball. The ball roles up a small ramp because the magnets are relatively closer further up the center ramp. The magnetic field at the end of the ramp is not strong enough to prevent the ball from falling off the ramp. It effectively drops out-of the magnetic field.

One would assume the gravitational potential of the dropping ball is decreased with the same amount as the magnetic field present. But placing the device in reverse and dropping the ball from the input[1] side gives an evident smaller impact. Thus evidence points in this direction where the ball is gaining more gravitational potential as it's loosing. It's irrefutably evident the ball gains kinetic energy from being attracted by the magnets, for conservation of energy to survive the ball should have zero kinetic energy after the magnetic interaction.
Of course the friction from rolling over the surface behind the SMOT has nothing to do with the spontaneous motion. The ball starts to move and it doesn't stop after the magnetic interaction.
Looking at things from the other side, we may place the SMOT ramp next to the ball making it roll over the ramp and continues to move in that direction. We may move the SMOT towards the ball horizontally the reactive force from the ball pulling at the ramp is complimenting the movement of the ramp. At no stage does the ramp move in the other direction.

ATTRACTIVE SMOT

The attractive SMOT is it's most popular configuration. The ball is encaged between 2 magnets where it should "normally" be able to wobble from left to right without escaping the field. By making the wobble partially happen horizontally and partially vertically gravity is assisting only at one of the sides. Think of a wave shaped hill, the magnets can slowly pull the ball up the slope but they cant lift it straight up.

REPUSIVE SMOT

The repulsive SMOT is some what less powerful and less popular. The ball rolls up the ramp while being attracted to the 2 rows of magnets. This causes the ball to become a magnet it self. As both sides of the ramp are of the same polarity both sides of the ball will become the same other polarity. The ball being slightly magnetized at the beginning of the ramp has 2 north poles and 2 south poles. BUT when it moves up the ramp the field intensity increases the flux grows exponential (the ball is even moving) So in stead of 4 poles the ball now becomes a magnet with only 2. This causes the attraction at one side of the ball to fail and allows for a time window where the ball may drop out of the fields

CLOSED LOOP SMOT

The closed loop SMOT has to be the least popular implementation of the device. A plurality of SMOT devices is placed in a circle. The construction I liked the most involved A base out of clay with a rail made out of electric wires. The perpetual motion artwork by Reidar Finsrud[1] is an example of such closed loop SMOT configuration. "Greg Watson claims to have constructed two versions"[2][3] "Naduin has achieved a couple of minuits of sustained motion."[2]

CONCLUSION

The SMOT's indistinguishableness from magic is apparant.
